The Bible is true
Scripture is God's Word — inspired, trustworthy, and meant for everyone. We teach it directly, in plain language, without dressing it up or watering it down.
We're a casual, welcoming church in Cocoa Beach — built for people who don't have it all figured out, and never planned to fake it.
The Pointe Church was started in 2017 by Derek and April Howell, with a simple conviction: people on the Space Coast deserved a church where they could come exactly as they are, hear the real words of Scripture, and never feel sized up at the door.
We're not a polished performance. We're not a country club for the spiritually-arrived. We're a community of people — surfers and engineers, single moms and retirees, kids and grandparents — figuring out what it looks like to follow Jesus together in a beach town.
We meet a block from the ocean, four times a weekend, and we save a seat for whoever shows up. Whether you've been in church your whole life or haven't set foot in one since middle school — there's room for you here.
Our church family drives in from across Brevard County — Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Merritt Island, Cocoa, Rockledge, Viera, Melbourne, and Palm Bay. Wherever you call home on the Space Coast, you're welcome at The Pointe.
"The perfect church for imperfect people."
— What we're about, in one lineOur beliefs aren't complicated, but they are foundational. Here's the short version of where we stand.
Scripture is God's Word — inspired, trustworthy, and meant for everyone. We teach it directly, in plain language, without dressing it up or watering it down.
Jesus is fully God and fully human. He lived, died, and rose again — and his life is what makes a real, transformed life possible for the rest of us.
Church isn't a club for people who have it together. It's a community for people becoming who God made them to be — one honest step at a time.
Derek and April started The Pointe Church in 2017 to be the kind of church they'd want to bring their own friends and family to — honest, casual, biblically-rooted, and never pushy. Today they co-lead the church together.
They teach and lead in a direct, down-to-earth way that's built for the real pressures of real life. They love Cocoa Beach, they love their family, and they believe Sunday mornings should leave you encouraged — not exhausted.
If you ever wonder what The Pointe is, the truest answer isn't a doctrine — it's how we treat people who walk in.
We don't perform. We don't pretend. Sundays are honest, the music is heartfelt, and the message lands somewhere true.
Board shorts, work clothes, sandy feet — it's all fine. We've never been a dress-up church and we don't plan to start.
From nursery to high school, your kids find a place that's safe, fun, and worth showing up for. Sundays should bless your family, not stress it.
The point of church isn't just Sunday morning. It's a life that looks more like Jesus on Tuesday afternoon. That's what we're after.
Tell us you're coming and we'll make sure your first visit is as easy as possible — parking, kids check-in, the whole thing.
